New Windows for Mekicevica

Spring weather is here and it is time to get going with maintenance projects. This weekend, Mekicevica is getting new windows. They will be of a UV-resistant, surface-hardened polyacrylate variety known as XT.
The first task was cutting the windows.

Important points are:

• warm room;
• fine blades of the type used to cut aluminium;
• low-speed saw;
• take your time.

Installing the new windows is a two-person job and very fiddly.

As with anything in life, practice makes (almost) perfect. The first window took us nearly two hours; the second took 15 minutes...
