Black Magic

Mekicevica's keel is now coated with POR-15. This is an anti-rust coating that seals the metal in a hard shell (of polyurethane, I believe). More information on the POR-15 web site.
The tricky thing about this coating (apart from the fact that it cannot be removed from anything it comes in contact with) is that the application has two stages:
In the wet stage you use copious amount of water to degrease, rinse, apply the etching primer, and rinse again.
In the second, dry stage everything has to be bone dry, otherwise the very expensive paint will be ruined.
It was hard work, but after three coats of POR-15 the result looks impressive.
Black magic. No more rust on Mekicevica's keel again. Ever.
With the risk of seeming to wear braces and belt, next I will overcoat with epoxy, and finally anti-fouling.
